Sgt Monsewicz met his wife in France, which is where their first son Edward D. Monsewicz was born. After about a year they moved to the United States, possibly to Ft Leonard Wood, Missouri. Later he got orders for Korea. His family moved to Jacksonville, Florida, then to Ft Benning, Georgia. By this time there was three more sons in the family. Son Edward said that his dad liked to work in the yard, spend time with the kids and liked listening to country singer, Marty Robbins. On Sunday's they went to church at Sand Hill. Edward was 7 years old when his father came home to be buried.

Born March 21, 1932.  Buried at Ft. Benning Post cemetery, Ft. Benning, Georgia.
